Skiing
40
km of slopes are at the winter sportsmen’s disposal. The lifts are
easily reachable from the vary hotels by a free shuttle bus. The slopes
at Kanzel and Langenstein are mostly prepared with artificial snow and
used especially for exercised athletes. The slopes of the cable railway
are covered only by natural snow and every skier from the beginner to
the deep snow freak find ideal conditions. The beginner can find
two exercise lifts next to the valley station and on the Sonnenhang for
their first steps in the snow.
Snowboarding
Close
to the Madritschhütte there is a new funpark for the freestylers with
rail, box, slides, table, kicker and jump. At the Madritsch glacier the
boarders find a permanent boardercross and next to it a halfpipe (100 m
length, 3 m height of the walls). The freeriders find many mountain
sides for funny boarding. Tip: Enjoying the deep snow descent from the
Schöntaufspitze (3.200 m) to the valley station (1.900 m)..
The funpark in the Madritsch skiing area in Sulden
In
winter 2008/2009 all the boarders from Sulden can find the fun park
with box, slide, rail, rain box, kicker and jump close to the Madritsch
Shelter. And there is even a permanent boarder cross and a half pipe
(length 100 m, width 20 m, height 3 m) on the Madritsch glacier. Both
attractions will be managed by the Cable Railways Sulden at least two
times a week. The new and fresh snow invites also to descend in the
free area out of the slopes – a great adventure!
Cross Country skiing
Optimal
prepared 8 km of cross country ski runs across the unique valley at the
legs of the Ortler mountains. We guarantee an unforgettable pleasure at
the cross country ski runs at an altitude of 1.900 m, which is prepared
from November to the end of April. It is illuminated by night and
homologized for international competitions. All the entrances to the
cross country ski runs are very close to the hotels.
Tobogganing
The
connection slope from the Kanzel to the cable railway at night is used
for tobogganing. The slope with a length of 2 km is illuminated three
times a week from 06.00 p. m. to 11.30 p. m. Since the slope is not too
steep the whole family can participate. Sleighs can be rented at every

Ice climbing
In
winter time you can try ice climbing in vary frozen water falls. The
alpine guides know exactly how it works and even you can learn quickly
how to use ice axes correctly and how to set the climbing irons in the
right positions.
